QE Manager

What is the opportunity?


As a Quality Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overall QE processes, methodologies, and test strategy, improvements and be accountable for driving quality by leveraging automation in order to improve quality through early defect detection.

You will be accountable for maximizing automation test coverage and using business analysis and automation techniques to optimize testing activities.

You will be responsible for developing and executing automation test plans for ecosystem/program/large projects (might assume planning execution accountability). You will lead the technical test effort and coaching junior resources on test execution and automation.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for managing test teams and aligning to RBC Quality Engineering practices
  • Responsible for integration of QE resourcing to programs/projects, assuring engagement at the start of the initiative
  • Responsible for managing resources and vendor coordination, driving alignment with RBC practices and efficient usage
  • Provides expertise, direction, coaching and development to build the team capability in areas such as QE, Agile, DevOps and other RBC processes and practices
  • Promotes a mindset for sustained success, growth and diversity and designs and executes continuous improvement of processes to nurture team productivity
  • Supports leadership teams in the development of workforce skill sets in order to meet transformation needs and achieve strategic goals
  • Accountable for coverage and efficiency in program/projects test plans within area of control and for maximizing automation for all project functional testing deliverables in portfolio
  • Responsible for following defined processes and tools and alignment with overall QE strategy and framework and for providing accurate and detailed quality status to project team and stakeholder
  • Partner with Application Development teams to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 5+ Quality engineering management experience with strong communication and test planning skills.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience developing and implementing program/project end to end testing strategies and plans and managing the end to end process
  • 5+ years testing experience with an expertise in test automation framework/tools and mentoring other QE in the team (Robot Framework, Python, Selenium or Appium, JavaScript, Java)
  • 3+ years of experience using DevOps tools (Helios, UCD, Jenkins, Sonarqube) and test integration processes and tools
  • 3+ years of experience with API/service testing tools (SoapUI, Postman, ReadyAPI)
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL, WebSphere,.Net, Angular
  • 3+ years of experience using Cloud solutions
  • Strong knowledge of methodologies, frameworks and best practices (Agile and Iterative Waterfall etc.) and experience with test management tools such as HP ALM, QTest, Jira and Confluence and source configuration tools (GIT, SVN, MKS, etc.)

Nice-to Have:

  • Cash Management domain knowledge
  • Handson programming experience (e.g., Java, C, SQL DB querying)
  • CSM certification is a big asset
