_We are looking for one (1), full time, forty (40) hours a week, Placement Coordinator to join our dynamic and talented team This position requires a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend work._

Position Overview:

As a Placement Coordinator, you enjoy supporting families throughout the placement process.

Well-organized and knowledgeable about foster care/kinship care, you are experienced in writing home assessments and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

As an advocate for all parties involved in the process, your ability to work both independently and within a team is essential.


The Meaningful Work You'll Do:

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the operational support of the Program, including the planning and coordination of its various activities
  • Participate in the development of individual service plans with clients and/or families
  • Provide support, guidance, and supervision to care givers to ensure clients needs are met
  • Be at work in accordance with the work schedule unless otherwise approved by the immediate supervisor
  • Complete and file necessary recordings and statistics
  • Assist in maintaining the building and equipment according to Agency standards
  • Inform and consult with the immediate supervisor any problem/difficulty encountered in providing services to the clients, including preparation and submission of incident reports
  • Attend staff meeting and participate in staff development programs whenever required
  • Assist in promoting positive public relations in the community
  • Perform other duties deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor

Education and Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Human Services / Social Work (or equivalent)
  • Approximately three (3) years' experience in working in family support and children who have experienced trauma
  • Certification or training in Aboriginal Awareness, Abuse Awareness, Standard First Aid, Medication Administration, and Violence/Crisis Intervention is a definite asset
  • Proven ability to provide effective communication, collaboration, crisis intervention, and conflict management with clients
  • Demonstrated assessment, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of community resources is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to act with professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle required

Compensation:

  • The salary for this position is $25.16 to $28.33 per hour based on qualifications and experience. We offer flexibility and supportive working environment.
