Job Summary

The Tank Foreman is primarily responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with overseeing field crews/equipment, interacting between Matrix personnel, QC / QA and the customer, and assisting with hiring, testing, and scheduling of field personnel.

Please note this will be used to fill several positions at Suncor Base plant near Fort McMurray, AB, Canada. These are tank maintenance and repair projects.

The schedule is 10 days, 4 days off, 10-hour to 12-hour days. Please keep in mind, travel to site is always Mondays to start Tuesdays and travel home is either AFTER working a full day on the following Thursday OR you can opt to stay in camp for an additional night and travel home on the Friday morning. Bussing is available from camp to job site and vice versa. You are responsible for getting to site and home on your own. Start date is May 2024. Must be able to pass a weld test and D&A screen (conditions of employment).

Essential Functions

Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values." Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics." Performs system verification on completed systems to assure correct installation per design specifications. Reviews NDE reports at jobs to ensure that all code and customer requirements have been met. Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities and equipment requirements. Supervise craft workers assigned to area of responsibility, provide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications. Monitor work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures and safety requirements are maintained. Advise senior level superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties; assist in resolving such problems, as required. Ensure all company, department and technical policies, procedures, and standards, are adhered to. Interpret policies, as required. Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Good understanding of craft work being supervised and knowledge of Aboveground Storage Tanks. Abilities to read blueprints. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook or willingness to learn. Knowledge of API standards, preferred. Ability to work with other Matrix personnel departments, such as Operations, Project Management, Engineering, and Safety to assist in resolving issues.
