The plant is currently in the construction phase and is set to commence operations by the end of 2025. Through strategic alliances with global energy industry leaders and the backing of Quebec and Canadian authorities, RCV is poised to showcase cutting-edge technology nurtured by Quebec's expertise, establishing itself as a top-tier technological benchmark.

As a crucial member of this entrepreneurial initiative, you will play a pivotal role in the initial planning, development, and execution of financial processes for the plant's startup and operational phases.

Utilizing your expertise, analytical prowess, mobilization skills, and dynamism as a controller, you will oversee and orchestrate various accounting functions, such as setting up internal controls, conducting financial analysis, and preparing financial reports in compliance with governmental regulations and external partner stipulations.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this role presents an outstanding opportunity to showcase your innovative spirit, managerial acumen, and ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.

If you feel you align with our desired qualifications and are eager to embark on this exciting journey, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Engage in the inaugural operational budgeting processes, maintain financial models, and refine them.
- Contribute to the selection of systems and applications.
- Establish protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of inventory accounting, work in progress, fixed assets, and operational expenses.
- Develop and enhance files and reports to streamline decision-making processes.
- Analyze financial data and operational cost performance metrics, ensuring their currency and pinpointing any variances.
- Lead and partake in the preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Generate financial performance summaries by highlighting significant deviations from previous analyses.
- Collaborate with the director on formulating the annual operational budget and uphold stringent monthly oversight.
- Supervise accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable activities.
- Coordinate the generation of various tax reports, including GST and QST submissions.
- Implement best accounting and administrative practices within the team and ensure compliance.
- Perform other duties pertinent to the role.
If you are prepared to tackle fresh challenges, we look forward to meeting you.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial accounting, or management.
- Certified member of the CPA Order.
- Minimum of eight years' experience in a similar capacity, preferably within a startup environment in the manufacturing sector (e.g., petrochemical, metallurgy, mining).
- Proficiency in the Office suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Strong familiarity with IFRS standards and their continuous adherence.
- Proficient in both French and English (written and oral).
- Extensive knowledge of integrated management systems (ERP), with expertise in Dynamics 365 being a plus.

Ideal candidate:
- Exceptional time management and prioritization abilities.
- Proficient in analytical thinking, quick problem-solving, and effective data synthesis for communication purposes.
- Results-driven, proactive, and customer-focused.
- Demonstrated leadership, strong work ethic, and keen attention to detail.
- Adaptability and flexibility in approach.

Schedule:
- Initially a hybrid model, splitting time between Montreal offices and the Varennes plant location.
