Position Overview
This position involves hands on payroll processing for over 300 employees nationwide.

The Payroll Coordinator will ensure that the payroll is completed on time and accurately, as well as, provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.

The Payroll Coordinator will have regular interaction with management regarding compensation matters, and be the point of contact for employee inquiries.

This position reports to the Vice President of Finance.

This is an on-site position for approximately 25-30 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Process semimonthly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Data entry including: new hire set up, terminations, adjustments, manual updates, and all other tasks related to employee compensation
  • Review payroll reports before transactions to ensure correctness
  • Ensure the payroll system is uptodate and accurate
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and auditing purposes
  • Prepare statements reflecting earnings, taxes and deductions
  • Prepare & send LOA tracker and employee count tracker weekly
  • Prepare ROEs and manual payments
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries
  • Perform payroll balancing procedures
  • Prepare year end T4's, Releve 1 and payroll reconciliations
  • Post journal entries for all payroll accounts
  • Benefit administration and Stat Remittances
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations and tax and deduction laws
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of payroll experience
  • Proficient with ADP Workforce Now
  • Excellent knowledge of current pay legislation
  • CPA level 1 certified or working towards designation
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, mathematical skills are essential
  • Experience in reconciling accounts and reports
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
  • Professional attitude and a customer service focus
