The Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board is committed to providing urban Indigenous youth, who reside within its catchment areas covering parts of southern Ontario, with employment and training services.


Purpose:

Working as part of a team in a fast paced environment, the primary function of this position is to provide wrap around case management services to urban Indigenous youth by developing a plan of care that is community oriented, family centered, strengths based, and reflects the cultural values and practices of each youth.

The project outcome is that "youth know about and easily navigate resources in their communities".

COUNSELLING AND CASE MANAGEMENT (60%)

  • Assess client's eligibility to participate in wrap around services
  • Provide initial and ongoing counselling to youth based on social work principles and training
  • Motivate and support family involvement and the inclusion of other informal community supports
