About the Role

You will be a part of our Application Development and Production Support (ADPS) team, a primary provider of application development and support services to partner departments and agencies across different business sectors. As an Application Developer, you will collaborate with clients and senior Application Developers to design, develop, and implement intricate software solutions aligning with our business objectives and tech strategy. Your role will encompass the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including designing, coding, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting business applications for client entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze, clarify, and transform business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Engage in and support application solution design and delivery to meet client needs, adhering to government tech standards.
  • Work with senior developers on data modeling and migration tasks.
  • Code, document, and implement programs in adherence to secure coding practices.
  • Conduct unit tests and system/integration tests, identify and resolve defects.
  • Provide assistance in application deployment and configuration management.
  • Address issues with existing applications as reported by clients.
  • Execute additional duties as necessary.
Relevant Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C# and SQL.
  • Experience with web development technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and database management systems.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Fundamental knowledge of SDLC and methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for team collaboration and client interactions.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Proactive nature and willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience in application development and support.
  • Proficiency in web frameworks such as Angular, React, etc.
  • Exposure to application deployment and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in software development.
  • A proactive attitude, adaptability, and a passion for learning new technologies.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized Information Technology Program.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
