Hours: 32 hours per week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (10:30am-6:30pm) plus 8 hours any day of the week

SUPPLY Victoria is a nonprofit dedicated to diverting materials from the landfill and putting them into the hands of artists, students, and teachers.

SUPPLY promotes sustainability and creativity through the operation of our Creative Reuse Centre.

Our Centre collects and sells donated materials, provides affordable resources, and offers Creative Reuse Education in order to create a more sustainable, creative, and inclusive Victoria.


Job Description Summary:


We are seeking a passionate individual to join us in the role of Reuse Retail Manager who will be responsible for oversight of all day-to-day operations of the Creative Reuse Centre's physical store inclusive of retail sales, donation processing, and volunteer management.


Responsibilities:

Store Operations: 50%

  • Manage daytoday operations of the Creative Reuse Center, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Develop creative ideas to reach monthly retail sales targets.
  • Develop sales and promotions and create seasonal displays.
  • Provide excellent customer service to shoppers, assisting with product selection and answering questions about materials.
  • Operate the cash register accurately, reconcile daily sales, and make monthly bank deposits.
  • Actively promote monetary donations at the point of sale.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store space.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and organizational policies.
Inventory Management and Donation Processing: 25%

  • Process incoming donations, including sorting, pricing, and stocking merchandise to maximize income.
  • Maintain inventory records and track sales data to assess performance and inform decisionmaking.
  • Decide the appropriate disposition of items not suitable for resale or reuse — recycling wherever possible.
  • Familiarize yourself with our and ensure compliance.
  • Educate yourself about unfamiliar materials and offer improvements to donation processes.
  • Manage stock inventory and identify high value items to place on Facebook Marketplace to increase revenue generation.
Volunteer Management and leadership: 20%

  • Recruit, orient, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with store operations and special projects.
  • Prepare daily work with incoming volunteers considering individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • Prepare monthly volunteer schedules and manage through our volunteer management platform.
  • Connect & communicate with leaders in related fields to improve our operations such as the Creative Reuse Center Discord and local thrift stores or nonprofits.
Digital Marketing: 5%

  • Encourage newsletter signups, and social media follows to increase SUPPLY's reach.
  • Assist the Digital Marketing Specialist Volunteer with social media efforts including generating content for Today's Finds and Volunteer Highlights for SUPPLY's Instagram, Facebook, and newsletter.
Team Work

  • Foster a positive team environment by communicating notes and updates to other staff at the end of each shift.
  • Communicate issues and seek support from the Executive Director when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to find solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail management experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for sustainability and creative reuse.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (or Microsoft Suite) and inventory management software.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Proactive, takes initiative, and pride in their work.
