ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely and advise the CEO on strategies to generate business growth and lead discussions to proactively give updates on business operations
  • Lead the Toronto Hello Nori location to build strong systems and a positive culture that allows the team to meet/exceed objectives relating to guest service experience, team development and financial targets
  • Proactively generate business growth through local events and marketing strategies
  • Facilitate communication between all stakeholders including the CEO, finance, construction, and others, developing strong relationships with all key crossfunctional partners
  • Project manage timelines
  • Ensure the restaurant has the required culinary and service teams, products, and equipment prior to opening
  • Reviewing monthly reports to monitor and capture revenue generation and restaurant performance
  • Collaborate with the Director of Restaurant Operations on the development of long term financial and operational plans
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and continually improve service strategies to ensure customers receive best in class service
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop Hello Nori's operational strategy that is driven by data and measurable KPI's
  • Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations
  • Lead by example and provide creative, strategic, leadership and motivation to management teams
  • Identify and assess areas where customer satisfaction levels need improvement and develop corrective measures
  • Responsible for sales budgets, profit and loss controls, inventory levels, and labor and product cost monitoring

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of experience leading a premium food and beverage operation
  • 2+ years of Multi-Unit restaurant experience
  • University degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience
  • Proven success in controlling COGs, labour and controllables
  • Strong business acumen with a proven ability to drive positive results aligned with business goals
  • Highly committed to a premium level of quality, service, and execution
  • Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze current business problems and implement recommended solutions
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Superior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment
  • A creative, energetic spirit with the flexibility to travel within Canada and work outside of the confines of a typical 95 job
  • Comfortable with dealing with media, public speaking, and VIP guests
  • Experience with commissary production kitchens an asset
  • Experience with Japanese cuisine and culture is an asset
  • Project management experience is an asset
  • Formal wine/spirit education is an asset
