Your Role:
Our team of software engineers is expanding rapidly to keep pace with the ambitious roadmap we've set out.

It's now time for our CTO to move into a new role (long-term vision, strategic partnerships, company culture, team recruitment and training) and hand over ownership and leadership of the team.

Reporting directly to our CTO, you will be responsible for:

Hands on development:
be hands on in the code, building the product and truly understanding the code base and the ins and outs of the technology

Team management:
supporting the team in their daily work, running team and 1:1 meetingsTeam development: helping them develop both technical and soft skills, assisting them in their career development, developing a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company's values, contributing to the recruitment, onboarding and training of new membersProject delivery: ensure project delivery to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of quality and stability, prepare feature development plans in close collaboration with our Product Manager and Project Delivery ManagerTechnical ownership: being responsible for every code environment (from staging to production), owning our web architecture and technical roadmap, challenging technical decisions, helping team members define the best technical solution to meet business objectives, ensuring a constant technology watch

Your Qualifications:
Must-haves:5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with recent Ruby-on-Rails experience5+ years of experience leading a team of 10+ membersExperience with PostgreSQL, Sidekiq and RedisExperience working at major technology firms on large-scale infrastructure projects designed to support high volumes of customersStrong communication & collaborative skills (perfectly fluent in English)

French-speaking (as our CTO and CMO speak French)Experience and interest in AI Engineering (NLP, LLM, ML, MLOps)What Success Looks LikeIn the first month you'll become deeply familiar with the technical and operational aspects of our platform.

By engaging in code reviews and development, you'll start to understand the intricacies of our architecture and identify areas for improvement.

Initiating discussions with each team member will help you grasp their current projects, strengths, and areas for growth, setting the stage for collaborative improvement and innovation.

In the first 3 months, your leadership will have made a significant impact on the engineering team's approach to project management and code review practices.

With a focus on autonomy and expertise, you'll guide the team in making informed architectural decisions to efficiently scale the application.

Your efforts to uphold high standards in code quality and deployment processes will be instrumental in maintaining software reliability, aiming for the target of 99% uptime.

Recruitment efforts to grow the team will be in full swing, focusing on attracting talent that aligns with the team's technical needs and company culture.

In the first 12 months, the engineering team will have experienced substantial growth, moving towards the goal of doubling its size.

This expansion reflects your effectiveness in talent recruitment and development, contributing to a culture of high performance and continuous learning.

Through improved project management and diligent follow-up processes, project delivery timelines will have seen significant reductions.

The emphasis on strategic decision-making and maintaining a high code quality standard will ensure the scalability and performance of our platform, supporting a user-centric approach to feature development and deployment.
