Indigenous Services Canada collaborates with partners to enhance access to top-notch services for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals. Our mission is to help and empower Indigenous communities to independently offer services and enhance the socio-economic status of their societies.
Workplace:
The official workspace for the available position is in the National Capital Region. The public service has recently introduced a hybrid work model (at least 2 days weekly or 40% of regular work hours, increasing to 3 days a week starting September). Due to the job's assigned responsibilities, the selected candidate will need to have an increased presence at the NCR office. A part-time telecommuting agreement will be established based on operational needs once hired.
Purpose of the process
The immediate goal of this recruitment is to fill 2 positions in Indigenous Services Canada.
This selection process might be utilized to create a pool of partially qualified candidates and also to fill similar positions with various tenures (Deployment, Assignment, Secondment, Acting, Term, or Indeterminate) within Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) across different locations with diverse language requirements and profiles (bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, French Essential or English Essential) and multiple security prerequisites (reliability or secret).

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years in a post-secondary program with a focus on social science, statistics, library/archival work, or law-related field
EXPERIENCE
Experience in gathering and analyzing information for clients and management.
Experience in researching historical data or genealogical information.
Experience handling collection materials in an archival and/or library and/or museum setting.
Experience in providing client services.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized institution with a specialization in history, archival sciences, or Indigenous studies.
Experience with archives acquisition programs in diverse libraries (such as Library and Archives Canada)
