Responsibilities:
Direct and train all full-time and temporary team members within the department.

Assist in the efficient running of the shipping dockManage the offloading of return loadsEnsure trailers are loaded quickly and efficientlyMaintain the shipping dock in a clean and safe conditionPerform dispatching functions as neededLiaising with other departments as requiredAble to resolve problems, and identify trends and communicate issues to relevant partiesWork in conjunction with Manager and Supervisor, Shipping to achieve highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Analyze workload and adjust staff accordingly to accomplish departmental goals.

Work in conjunction with Manager and Supervisor, Shipping to communicate any performance management issues and coach as neededStimulate continuous process improvementsSupport all company sponsored programs and initiatives.

Provide positive leadership and seek out opportunities to maintain and enhance morale.
Providing frequent and constructive feedback as required.
Communicate departmental standards, expectations, goals, changes and policies to all team members.

Performs administrative duties in the Shipping office including but not limited to :

load scheduling, assisting with Bills of Lading (BOL), liaising with Stores for BOL requests, distributing store trailer seals, maintaining daily shipping log, Transaver duties and equipment orderingEnsure team member safety through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability and by promptly addressing potential hazards.

Comply with Toys"R"Us Health and Safety policies, procedures and standards and with the OHSA to ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Monitor DC safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basisOther duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Post secondary education or relevant experienceStrong problem solving skillsGood communication skills, interpersonal skills, math and organizational skillsMust have prior experience with using computers and possess basic computer skills – MS Office (Word and Excel) is an assetKnowledge of AS400Knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and RF technology is an assetGood attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and use sound judgment to make decisionsPeople Management – ability to assess skills and manage the work and productivity of others while coaching and developing talentConflict management skills – ability to view conflict as an opportunity to find common ground and gain cooperation from all parties.
