McCain Foods is recruiting for a Manager, Global Social Media & Communications to drive forward t he global social strategy and external communications in a coordinated manner that protects and
enhances our corporate reputation.
This is a new position that sits within the External Affairs & Sustainability team and requires quick action, thoughtful strategic insight and dedicated commitment to deliver best in class communications to external stakeholders.
The Role:
In this role, you'll ideate, develop and manage McCain's global social media platforms, with a focus on - but not limited to - LinkedIn and Twitter.
You'll also be a key contributor to our global external communications strategy driving the understanding of our sustainability commitments and progress, across stakeholder audiences, externally.
The expectations for this role are that it will be the central expertise for optimized content for each social channel feed, community management and help propel our global reputation forward with innovative and thoughtful strategies that enable McCain to stand out and stand for sustainable agriculture.
Accountabilities:

Strategy and content development: You'll have the opportunity to build and implement social media plans for McCain's channels across all platforms. You'll be responsible for managing a content calendar across channels and projects. You'll have the chance to develop and tweak creative for our channels to ensure best in class storytelling across platforms. You'll play a vital role in effectively communicating Sustainability strategy and tone of voice through external communications. Additionally, you'll also get to build, maintain, and grow a community of passionate stakeholders around agriculture and the future of farming.

Collaboration will be key as you'll partner with various business units to ensure storytelling is carried across the organization, including Global internal communications, global sustainability and sustainability pillar leads, business development, commercial team leads, marketing, talent acquisition, human resources and regional counterparts to ensure the delivery of narratives that truly show the global business reach.
- Develop, oversee and direct comprehensive national communications strategies and corporate positioning that enhance the company's vision and business direction and build external support and public support.
Key Accountabilities:
Social - 70% of role accountabilities:
- Leads ideation and planning for global social feeds (including corporate website), including selection of relevant channels and tailoring communications and content
- Leverages best practices for social and digital channels to bring forward new content ideas and test & learn opportunities
- Indepth knowledge of changing social media environment and native apps including but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, We Chat, YouTube, etc.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and video editing, as well as an understanding of Video FX
- Knowledge of social media storytelling as well as strong writing skills for captioning content and developing scripts for videos
- Proven track record of driving organic reach, as well as knowledge of paid reach
- Experience of acting on behalf of an organization in responding to comments, as well as active social listening and risk escalation
Corporate Communications - 30% of role accountabilities:
- Develop and execute with excellence strategic programs that support the company's corporate reputation and focus on external communication strategies
- Elevate earned media through effective proactive and reactive media relations in support of the corporate and brand narrative while serving as a key media contact
- Partner with teams and leaders across the business to sharpen the company's corporate narrative by seeking news and company developments to promote
- Create fulsome materials to support effective communication, including leadership remarks, press releases, media statements and more
Additional competencies:
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages not required, but considered an asset.
- Skilled at collaborating across teams, editing with multiple partners and selfmotivated to seek out information.
