Overview:


As a member of the Project NOVA team focusing on digital, you will be a part of transforming business by empowering people and partners with new technology and processes that are responsive and efficient, giving customers more choice and a better experience.

As a Product Owner you will be responsible for maximizing the value of the product created by the scrum development team by ensuring the product vision is understood and development efforts align to business objectives.

As an integral member of the scrum team, you will be business and technology focused and work to drive value as a function of cost, time, functionality and quality of product.


Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to defining the product vision and roadmap in collaboration with the Product Manager and Operational Business Champion.
  • Engage crossfunctionally with the Product Manager, Business Leads and Architects to understand business requirements and translate those requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the scrum team during development.
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings as the business voice and act as the development team's first point of contact to answer questions as the business/user representative.
  • Manage, prioritize and weigh the competing needs, demands and objectives of stakeholders, considering impacts to backlog in terms of scope, timelines and capacity.
  • Participate in team demos with primary responsibility of reviewing and accepting completed user stories. Accountable for the evaluation and acceptance of the final product.

Qualifications:

  • Formal education (degree, diploma or certificate) in business, management, commerce or information technology.
  • Progressive experience performing complex analysis, including two years of related experience.
  • Experience in product strategy/vision/roadmaps in a Lean-Agile environment is an asset.
  • Experience in SCRUM and Kanban is an asset.
  • SAFe Product Owner certification is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with leadership, technical and nontechnical audiences, while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence.
  • Knowledge of Agile development techniques such as DevOps, test driven development and test automation.
  • Knowledge of scrum techniques and artifacts (such as user stories, automated testing, and backlog refinement).
