This role offers a mix of office-based work in North Vancouver and hybrid remote options for eligible candidates in Canada.

If you were the Senior Materials Developer - Toolbox now, here are some of the core day-to-day activities:

  • Interfacing with Merchandising, Design, and other teams to communicate progress on fiber targets and develop future material roadmaps
  • Curating material palettes and optimizing the toolbox through material consolidation
  • Researching and developing cutting-edge materials with a focus on performance attributes
  • Exploring long-term material developments and proposing commercialization timelines
  • Providing materials expertise and education to cross-functional teams
  • Understanding cross-functional roles to effectively drive decision-making
  • Guiding the Raw Materials Development team towards timely commercialization
  • Identifying innovation opportunities for high-performance materials
  • Evaluating suppliers' technical capabilities and collaborating for successful commercialization
  • Engaging with sustainability teams to meet material targets
  • Assessing risks and communicating material development status to leadership
  • Attending global tradeshows to build partnerships and explore new materials
  • Testing and evaluating materials using industry-standard lab testing for quality assurance

Are you our next Senior Materials Developer - Toolbox?

  • You have 5+ years of experience in the apparel/equipment industry related to textiles
  • You hold a degree or diploma in Materials Science, Textile Technology, or equivalent field
  • You demonstrate expertise in the end-to-end RMD process and on-time delivery practices
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of trims and textile manufacturing processes
  • You are familiar with performance textiles and previous materials testing experience
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and PLM systems
  • You are physically able to handle materials and willing to travel internationally
  • You exhibit strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and coaching skills
  • You can balance autonomy and collaboration effectively
  • You have exceptional organizational skills and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • You embrace ambiguity and drive continuous improvement
  • You are dedicated to delivering optimal solutions and upholding ethical standards

  • The estimated pay range for this role is CAD $91,000 - CAD $114,000 annually, based on factors like skills, experience, and education. This does not include bonus programs and benefits offered.
