Pathways Program Coordinator

The Kenädän Kų̀ House of Learning, within the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, is growing its team and is looking to fill the role of Pathways Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager, Pathways and Social Development, this individual will be responsible for supporting identified citizens in a holistic, collaborative and citizen-centered nature in all areas of wellness including cultural and community connection, education, training, mental health, employment and volunteering.
The incumbent will be familiar with outreach, case management and harm reduction frameworks, and program facilitation and will be a team player with the ability to establish and maintain connections through consistent, transparent, ethical and relational practice with citizens. They will have excellent oral communications skills, and advanced writing skills and possess sound organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
Current knowledge of Yukon-based programs and services is a must, as well as a demonstrated collaborative team approach to service delivery.
Required Qualifications (what we look/screen for on your resume) :
- Degree, diploma, certificates, or course work in Social Work, Social Sciences, Education or related field;
- Experience working with people who may have complex care needs: including physical and cognitive challenges, mental health issues and/ or substance use challenges;
- Experience working with Yukon First Nations and/or in a community development context;
- Experience in le group/program facilitation, conflict resolution, communication and life skills an asset; and
- Knowledge of Yukon First Nations history with formalized education systems, residential schools and on-going intergenerational effects specific to education and social programming is an asset.
Familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals, and aspirations is required for success in the role.

- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with clients, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect and be able to use conflict resolution skills.

- Problem-solving; ability to assess client needs and develop appropriate action plans)
- Attention to Detail and organization
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Note: An equivalent combination of education & training, and considerable experience in the above areas will also be considered. We encourage those who don't feel they meet all of the qualifications to still apply.
Conditions of Employment:
- Valid class 5 driver's license (willingness to obtain a class 4)
- Satisfactory pre-employment criminal records check with vulnerable sector search
