Lead Application Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Application Support Specialist with extensive experience in trading systems to oversee the application support team for our Horizon platform. The successful candidate will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective support and problem-solving, maintaining application performance, and leading a team of support specialists.
This role is the first of its kind in our North America office, requiring close collaboration with our London office to ensure seamless support and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the application support team for the Horizon platform.
- Provide expert-level support and resolve complex technical issues related to trading systems.
- Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and reliability of the Horizon platform.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to address and resolve application issues.
- Implement and manage incident and problem management processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including FAQs, user guides, and support procedures.
- Conduct regular training and mentoring sessions for support team members.
- Gather and analyse support metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalations and critical incidents.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients regarding support issues and resolutions.
- Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in application support or a related role, with significant experience in trading systems ideally within banking sectors.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in Python and Rust programming languages.
- Experience with application monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience with financial risk management software or platforms.
- Knowledge of AWS computing platforms and services.
