Role and Responsibilities:

  • The person must always perform circle checks of equipment and clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies, and procedures of the company
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance.
  • Perform fine grade work.
  • Identify defects in heavy duty equipment
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
  • The Excavator Operator may also deal with residents and members of the public. They will be required to do so in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Travel to various construction sites within and around Ottawa's west end to operate machinery.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy machinery.
  • Ability to perform fine grade work.
  • Ability to work in delicate areas.
  • Detailed focus and attention to detail.
  • Openness to learn new technologies and techniques.
  • Indepth knowledge of construction/heavy equipment.
  • Must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and to be flexible with the changing needs of the project.
  • Completion of all required health and safety training.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
$28.00-$34.00 per hour
