Front-Line Support Worker, Drop-in Centre, Squamish
Temporary Part-time 24 hours per week, 7-month contract
Main Function:
to support individuals and their children accessing the Squamish Drop-in Centre consisting of (but not limited to) emotional support, safety planning, education, advocacy, referrals, and assistance accessing services.
Other tasks required are fostering community relations, support, and education and ensuring PearlSpace service goals and mission are met.Location:

Skills and Attributes:
- An understanding of systemic discrimination against women and marginalized genders and the dynamics of genderbased violence is an asset;

- Strong communication skills (both oral and written);

- Strong networking, organizational, timemanagement, and problemsolving skills;
- Crisis prevention, intervention, and conflict resolution skills in a nonjudgmental approach

- An understanding of the dynamics of powerbased violence against vulnerable populations;
- An understanding of the ongoing impacts of colonization and residential schools upon Indigenous Communities.
