We are actively recruiting for the role Advisor, HS reporting to the Supervisor, Health, Safety and Industrial Hygiene.

Responsibilities:

  • Confined space hazard assessment / trench assessment development, reviews and updates.
  • Industrial hygiene sample collection and interpret laboratory analysis reports, review, inventory updates and inspections.
  • Participate and coordinate annual emergency exercises
  • Participate in planning and execution of major plant maintenance events
  • Perform office and workplace ergonomic assessments
  • Provide technical safety support (e.g. regulation interpretations, guarding recommendations, etc.)
  • Receive and evaluate improvement recommendations to the Safety Manual
  • Coach workplace committees and leaders to improve reporting data accuracy and completeness
  • Support internal and external event reporting
  • Perform area inspections
  • Perform once safety inspection, and one of each evaluation type, per site
  • Review Critical Lift Plans; make additions/adjustments/recommendations to ensure tasks are performed safely
  • Provide management with technical assistance on equipment selection and procurement as needed
  • Review annual Hazard Assessments for PPE and respiratory protection
  • Support People Leaders on Working Alone procedure
  • Perform and first aid assessment annually, and for any significant manpower or operational change
  • Annually review and update as required sitespecific H&S Orientation materials
  • Participate in the company safety program audits and/or selfassessments
  • Assist People Leaders during regulatory inspections

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree related to Health and Safety from an accredited Post-Secondary Institution
  • 5 years of EHS experience
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in British Columbia and Alberta
  • Experience in delivering emergency response exercises (drills, tabletop, and full scale)
  • Experience in reporting incidents to the oil and gas sector (BC OGC, AER, CER) regulators
  • Driver's license

Preferred:

  • Incident Command Training (ICS 100, ICS 200)
  • Industrial Hygiene training from an accredited Post-Secondary Institution
  • Registered professional designation (CRSP, CSP, ROH, CIH, P.Eng)
  • Certified Asbestos Worker
  • Radiation Safety Officer

Comments:

Driving to remote sites via radio-controlled roads is required.
