Overview:

IT Network Administrator

DESCRIPTION:

The Network Administrator maintains and supports the infrastructure by monitoring the system's health and implementing improvements. They also support end users by providing advanced troubleshooting and responding to tickets created by the Service Desk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, and support of network devices such as switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, network ports, paging and telecommunication system, and UPS systems
  • Take responsibility for network and cyber security while working closely with outside vendors to implement new solutions and technical issues
  • Ensure network config backups are done regularly and efficiently
  • Take responsibility with network administration services of client, cloud and onpremise serverbased systems such as Microsoft Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, VoIP, domain server, print server, etc
  • Document all procedures and keep a detailed history of network problems, inventories etc.
  • Responsible for security and function of wireless system including creation and management of VLANs, secure guest access and correct deployment of access points

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • University degree or college diploma in a related field and at least 2 years' experience in Network or IT Systems Administration
  • Technical proficiency and knowledge of LAN/WAN technology and associated software and hardware such as firewalls, routers and switches required
  • A proactive team player who is flexible and selfmotivated
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate, problem solve and provide technical administration assistance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and on various tasks simultaneously in a fastpaced environment under occasional tight deadlines

WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Due to the nature of this role, the job requires regular onsite attendance at our Toronto Home Office.
  • Oncall duties to support in emergency situations
