What Will You Do?


Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, the incumbent will work in a team environment and be responsible for leading a security team in the day-to-day security operations for the company's Ottawa facilities, which includes the protection of company and customer assets, personnel, and information.

Under the direction of the Security Operations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for initiating and implementing appropriate security measures, policies, and procedures.

This position has responsibility for direct supervision of any Security Agent shift as assigned by Security Management. The incumbent will supervise after hour security operations and primarily work evenings and night shifts.

Knowledge/Experience_**- In depth knowledge and experience of CBN security systems, department scheduling, and day to day CBN Security activities/needs

  • Experience with Scheduling

Responsibilities, Duties, and Tasks:

  • Supervises Security Agents for procedure compliance, effectiveness, and appropriate reporting; duties include planning, scheduling, organizing, directing work, and training personnel through onthejobtraining.
  • Monitors, directs, and reports upon general employee compliance to CBN Security policy, procedures, and authorized practice
  • Supervises utilization and maintenance of security systems.
  • Monitor use of security communications systems
  • Monitor and document Security Agents performance and attendance.
  • Supervises Security response to emergencies such as imminent security threats, fire, accident, and illness.
  • Coverage overlapping with both day and night shift crews.
  • Assist with emergency coverage
  • Facility Access Requests
  • Processing and following up on incident reports
  • Health and Safety, Environmental, Quarterly Access and Equipment Audits
  • Fingerprinting, Police Record Checks
  • Assisting with triaging/completing Security related IS tasks
  • Degaussing, tracking and destruction of IS secure devices/data
  • Oversee video Surveillance, camera Reviews, and tape maintenance.
  • Access system maintenance / updating
  • Monitors use, suitability and requirements for clothing and equipment
  • Employee development oneonones
  • Provide dedicated leadership and facilitate growth/development to the Security Agent team
  • Provide oncall service (cell phone) to respond to alarms and emergency calls
  • Work outside of scheduled hours to ensure consistent coverage, attend training classes, meetings and other activities as needed to meet the business needs of the organization and the workgroup.
  • Assist with investigations under the direction of Security Management.
  • Fulfill any Security duties as required by Management.

Mandatory Requirements

  • The ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to calls outside of normal working hours and to provide leadership to group working night shifts
  • Maintain your Ontario Security license
