Carpenter Helper

Responsibilities:

Assist Carpenters:
Work alongside experienced carpenters to assist in the construction of structures and frameworks.

Material Handling:
Responsible for carrying and moving materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site.

Tool Maintenance:
Keep tools and equipment in good condition and assist with their setup and breakdown.

Measuring and Cutting:
Assist in measuring and cutting materials according to specifications provided by the carpenter.

Assembly:
Help in assembling and installing structures such as windows, doors, and cabinets.

Cleanup:
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning up debris and disposing of waste materials.

Safety:
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Learning Opportunities:

Requirements:

Previous Experience:
Prior experience in a construction or carpentry-related role is a plus.

Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.

Team Player:

Attention to Detail:
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.

Reliability:
Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic.

Willingness to Learn:
Eagerness to learn and grow in the carpentry field.

Salary:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

• French not required

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Courtenay, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- carpentry: 2 years (preferred)
