Position Overview
We are currently looking to fill casual positions for Housekeeping Aides at New Vista Society located in Burnaby, BC.

Detailed Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintain assigned areas, including resident rooms, bathrooms, serveries, and common areas
  • Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors
  • Perform daily cleaning and disinfecting of all high contact surfaces such as equipment, toilets, sinks, and furniture.
  • Emptying trash and recycling bins
  • Perform discharge cleaning and disinfecting on resident rooms
  • Transports or moves items such as furniture
  • Restocking supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products
  • Reporting any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidelines
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
  • Time management skills to ensure efficient completion of tasks within designated timeframes
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
  • Ability to deal with other effectively
  • Ability to operate related equipment

Qualifications:

  • Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience in a Care Facility/Acute Care Setting preferred

Note:
Prior experience as a housekeeper or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

$23.38 per hour
