Under the general direction of the Major Recruitment Lead, responsible to lead, coordinate, review, enhance, and administer the
Summer Employment Program that supports Manitoba Hydro's recruitment initiatives. Build strategic relationships that directly
support corporate employment equity initiatives and goals. Responsible for providing advice, guidance and recommendations to line
management, supervisory staff, and students on a variety of human resource matters.

_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Lead the recruitment of the Summer Student Program, which involves managing approval process/requisitions,
collecting/screening/managing resumes/applicant data and sharing with line management, preparing employment offers,
including salary treatment and classification review, and coordinating summer student onboarding.

  • Provide support for professional development programs such as the EngineerinTraining Program (EIT), International
Educated Engineers (IEEQ), Industry Internship Program (IIP), and Commerce Career Development Program (CCDP).

  • Provide consultative advice and expertise on human resource matters, including recruitment and selection procedures,
onboarding, terminations, extension approvals, diversity, corporate initiatives, employee compensation, including wage and

  • Delegate assignments and provide training, guidance, and advice to support staff to assist with administrative tasks for the
summer student program.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders in support of student employment strategies.
  • Coordinate and implement strategies to ensure the Summer Student Program employment equity goals, corporate initiatives
- and targets are met.
  • Liaise with University and College program coordinators in support of cooperative educational programs.
  • Collaborate with internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team to help promote the placement of bursary/award recipients, and
  • Attend career fairs and other external functions to promote the Summer Student Program and Manitoba Hydro's initiatives.
  • Lead the summer student orientation/onboarding process and coordinate summer student events.
  • Develop and maintain systems for summer student data collection and storage, in consultation with IT staff.
  • Research, compile, and deliver the Summer Student annual report.
  • Prepare and distribute Summer Student Survey used to identify opportunities and initiate improvements.
  • Participate in other crossfunctional project teams in the ongoing review of the student employment systems and programs in
the implementations of recommendations and performance measures.

  • A fouryear University Degree (Human Resource Management Major) and a minimum of one year directly related experience.
OR

  • A twoyear Diploma in a related discipline (Human Resource Management Diploma, Business Administration) from an institute
