Contracts Manager

Leverage knowledge of Canadian Construction law to review, advise on and manage legal documents to ensure that they meet company standards and reduce our exposure to risk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Thorough investigation and analysis of complex legal documents, including proofreading of contracts.
- Act as first point of contact for the Sales organization to identify, advise on and help resolve legal issues in a practical manner.
- Maintenance of contracts database, including scanning and filing of documents
- Monitoring and responding to deadlines, extensions, and other time sensitive matters.
- Draft, format, and review routine correspondence, legal documents, and various internal communications prior to review by Finance lead.
- Review routine and recurring contracts and other legal documents, including NDAs, service contracts, terms of RFP and subconsultant contracts.
- Complete customer requests for information.
- Assist in compiling information as required in the event of legal action.
- Administer contracts throughout their entire life cycle to ensure contract compliance and successful delivery.
- Develop and issue regular reports on the status of contracts to ensure timely renewals.
- Maintaining and updating job knowledge and technical skills by identifying and participating in education opportunities.
- Follows established standard work and processes utilizing several enterprise systems, coordinating the transition of contracts from Sales to Operations.
- Other administrative support as required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office/ MS Windows/Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and writte
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Confident in acting as a change agent, suggesting improvements in control and efficiency enhancements.
- Excellent strategic thinking and structured problemsolving skills.
- Selfstarter capable of working independently and able to reliably meet deadlines.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
Education/experience:
- Licensed to practice as a paralegal or contracts manager in Ontario, Canada.
- Contracts Manager
3-5 years (preferred)
- Construction industry experience is essential.
- French comprehension an asset.
- Experience operating in a multiprovincial and/or complex matrix business environment.
