About the Role:

The Boston Scientific Electrophysiology Firmware R&D team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Embedded Software Engineer to leverage their expertise and make significant contributions to the development of innovative medical devices that have the potential to change lives. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead design aspects and be part of a skilled team offering substantial technical and career growth prospects.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and test embedded software within a system, document and troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with hardware.
  • Apply appropriate standards, processes, and tools throughout the development cycle to support engineering applications.
  • Participate in software architecture development, document requirements, and plans.
  • Conduct detailed design analysis to meet product performance, cost, and reliability requirements.
  • Track and resolve software issues methodically.
  • Develop software test plans, conduct testing, and collaborate across teams for integration.
  • Work with program managers to create development and project plans.
  • Contribute to software documentation, risk management, issue tracking, and test reports.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with firmware development using C, C++, and Assembly for microcontrollers/microprocessors.
  • Experience in communication protocols, DSP, and hardware/software debugging.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in technical writing, unit, and system testing.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical device or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with medical device design regulations.
  • Experience with FPGA programming in VHDL/Verilog.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective project task organization and communication.
