Reporting to the Senior Director – Power Transmission & Integration, you will focus on securing and delivering Canadian Transmission Projects while supporting projects globally working from our Mississauga, Vancouver, Montreal or Winnipeg office.

Design activities include route selections, conductor selection, rating studies, insulation designs, structure design, structure spotting, preparation of functional specifications for design, material and construction and coordinating of civil and structural designs of transmission lines.

Secure projects and MSA with key clients in Canada
Write technical papers and present at conferences to demonstrate expertise in the field and engage clients
Support the Business Unit in business development including fostering relationships with existing clients, preparing proposals for new work, identifying market areas, and pitching clients
Conduct site visits, factory visits, field assessments and client engagement meetings
Projects management and execution of transmission projects
Support for risk assessments and resolution of constructability issues.
Preparing proposals for engineering of transmission line projects.
Delivering transmission line design projects in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget and procedures.
Resolving overall design/project execution issues, as required.
Ability to take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required.
Strong proficiency using PLS software suite: PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER.
Familiarity with structural and civil design aspects for transmission lines.
Understanding with applicable codes, standards and regulations applicable to transmission line design in Canada and overseas.
Experience using GIS software packages like ArcGIS is an asset.
Experience in field construction is an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point
Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects
Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest problems.
