The Ukrainian Museum of Canada, in Saskatoon, SK, is a dynamic cultural heritage museum, archives, and community space operating in a period of creative regrowth. We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual to join our team this summer as a Marketing Coordinator, working under the direction of our Communications Manager. This is an excellent learning opportunity for emerging marketing professionals with an interest in the arts and culture.

Job Description:
As a Marketing Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying the museum's presence through digital and traditional marketing channels. Working under the direction of the museum's Communications Manager, you will assist in executing strategic initiatives to enhance our brand visibility and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Digital and Social Media Strategy: Support the implementation and execution of our digital and social media strategy, driving audience engagement and awareness.
  • Contact Lists Management: Maintain accurate and updated contact lists for media, stakeholders, and members to facilitate effective communication.
  • e-Newsletter Management: Curate compelling content for our monthly e-newsletter and ensure timely distribution following established templates.
  • Marketing Coordination: Assist in the creation of marketing materials, including drafting copy and coordinating content dissemination across multiple platforms.
  • Website Content Development: Contribute to the development and upkeep of our museum's website by creating and uploading engaging content.
  • Event Representation: Serve as a museum ambassador at various events, fostering community connections and promoting our mission.
  • Photography and Video Content: Collaborate on the creation of visual content, providing technical support and assisting in editing and distribution efforts.
  • Content Creation and Drafting: Gather and draft compelling content for communication activities, maintaining consistency with established guidelines.
  • Exhibition Support: Aid in the creation and installation of didactic materials for museum exhibitions, enhancing visitor experience and engagement.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of marketing and communication initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of website content management systems is an asset.
  • Previous experience in marketing or communications is preferred.

Youth Eligibility:

• Canadian citizen, permanent resident or granted refugee status.

• Between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment.

• Have a valid SIN number that does not start with the number '9'. International youth are not eligible participants.

• Cannot be an immediate family member of the employer, officer, board member or director.

Hours: 35 hours per week, typically Monday-Friday but with some flexibility

Compensation: $18/hour

Duration: 8 weeks
