Reporting in to the Executive Director, the Director of Care (DOC) supervises all nursing activities within the facility. The DOC consistently provides leadership within established legislative and professional standards ensuring the enhancement of the overall quality of life for each and every resident.

Requirements

  • Must be an RN
  • 3- 5 years of experience as a prior Director of Care within a Long Term Care Facility
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and customer service.
  • Experience in inventory control, resource utilization and allocation.
  • Plans, leads, directs, and monitors the effectiveness of all operational activities within the nursing teams.
  • Promotes resident-centred care that is inclusive of all residents, their families as well as Nursing team members.
  • Must provide an up to date vulnerable sector check upon start date as well as an up to date TB vaccination
