About this opportunity

The Subsea Assets and Engineering team is part of the Operation Engineering Department. The team manages Integrity of Subsea components, which includes monitoring of equipment performance, engineering and planning of equipment repairs, replacements, procurement, maintenance and upgrades.

We are looking for a keen learner candidate who thrives working in a fast-paced and diverse environment.

What you'll do

  • The student provides engineering support to the Subsea Assets and Engineering team.

  • Performing reviews and updates to Subsea Engineering documentation.

  • Performing Daily/Weekly/Monthly Subsea system monitoring checks.

  • Working with contractors and sub-contractors.

  • Visiting worksites and Vendors and witnessing equipment testing.

  • Reviewing equipment documentation.

  • Supporting the interface process with internal and external teams.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

  • Available to begin work in January 2025

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Strong technical skills (MS Excel).

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, hard-working, team environment.

  • Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize.

  • Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions.

  • Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals.

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

Education

  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering Program (all disciplines will be considered) at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of the intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
