CHIEF, DIVISION OF HEMATOLOGY & ONCOLOGY, CHEOFull Time Academic PositionCHEO/University of Ottawa

CHEO is recruiting a Division Chief and full time pediatrichematologist/oncologist to actively lead clinical care,teaching and research in the Division of Hematology andOncology within the Department of Pediatrics. The Divisionfocuses on the inpatient and ambulatory care forhematology and oncology patients, and has approximately90 newly diagnosed oncology patients per year. The patientpopulation also includes the second largesthemoglobinopathy program in Ontario, in addition to manyother subspecialized hematology and oncology programs.The Division is actively involved in research and is a fullmember of the Children's Oncology Group as well as beingactively involved in many international, national and localresearch studies. The Division also runs a Royal Collegeaccredited training program in PediatricHematology/Oncology.The Division of Hematology/Oncology is comprised of 8.5clinicians that are dynamic, highly engaged and extremelydedicated to excellence in patient care, academic activityand research. The Division is heavily invested in importanteducation, administrative and research leadership roles atthe departmental, hospital, university and national levels.The Division Chief at CHEO oversees the safety and qualityof care provided as well as the medical staff within theDivision. As such, the Division Chief has responsibilities formedical staff leadership, operational resource oversite, incollaboration with their administrative dyad, and theDivision's academic activity.

CHEO invites applications from candidates who have strongoperational and academic leadership skills and a provenrecord of achievement in comprehensive patient care,clinical program development, education, research, and/orquality assurance. Candidates must be eligible for a fulltime academic appointment in the Faculty of Medicine,University of Ottawa. While English is the language of thehealth record, functionality in French is an asset.

The candidate will be Royal College of Physicians andSurgeons of Canada (Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology)certified/ eligible, or equivalent and eligible for medicallicense in Ontario.
