The Career Consulting team is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Calgary or Vancouver office:

Senior Executive Rewards Consultant

  • Mercer's Career Consulting business helps our clients around the world engage their talent to drive business performance. Career consultants partner with board members, top-level executives, and HR leaders to optimize business performance through strategies that enable organizations to better manage, reward, and engage their people.
  • You will join a national team of 100 passionate consultants who have a wealth of expertise in employee and executive rewards, employee communication, talent strategy and workforce analytics. 
  • You will work with a premier client base consisting of large complex Canadian and global organizations.
  • You will be able to tap into the expertise across Mercerâs global network and work with a broad range of colleagues and industry experts.
  • The Rewards Principal supports companies in the design and execution of performance measurement and reward strategies that reinforce business objectives
  • You will work with organizations to identify the financial and people factors that drive value
  • You will design financial performance measurement and target-setting systems to support these reward and compensation programs

We will count on you to:

  • Develop executive compensation strategies, philosophies, and programs that address clientsâ attraction and retention needs
  • Provide consulting services to senior management and boards on a variety of remuneration issues, including competitiveness of pay, performance, measurement, and governance and regulatory implications
  • Design short-term and long-term incentive programs that reinforce the clientsâ strategic objectives
  • Provide consulting services on broader Human Capital issues and/or market trends
  • Generate revenue through development of new client relationships and building and maintaining strong client relationships, which will ideally lead to opportunities for project extensions, cross-selling, and referrals to new prospects
  • Assess current pay and program features, relative to the market and to the clients' unique situations
  • Lead day-to-day interaction with clients
  • Structure and/or review client deliverables
  • Structure, direct, review, and interpret analyses performed by the project team

What you need to have: 

  • Bachelorâs degree required
  • At least 8 yearsâ relevant work experience in human resources, executive compensation, business, or finance-related consulting
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Knowledge of HR business processes
    Strong finance and accounting skills
  • Proven project management skills and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one âanchor dayâ per week on which their full team will be together in person.


The applicable base salary range for this role is $117,000 to $194,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
