Inventory Analyst

Position: Inventory Analyst
Location: Anjou, Montreal

Through detailed and thorough analysis, the primary mandate of the role is to ensure the proper inventory levels for the company; this includes by business unit, by warehouse, by product family, and SKU, according to needs. The position will also provide support to procurement during peak periods, replacements, and vacations.

Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for internal inventory-related inquiries;
Manage the statistical system for cycle inventory counting;
Conduct root cause analysis on inventory variances, recommend changes to address the underlying causes, and optimize inventory management procedures;
Ensure the accuracy of inventory valuation through monitoring and maintaining inventory costs and physical quantities;
Monitor inventory surpluses and stockouts, and in collaboration with relevant buyers and customer service, identify at-risk products and make recommendations to buyers;
Lead physical inventory counts at the hub;
Support audit requirements to ensure prompt delivery and response to audit inquiries;
Identify potential inter-branch transfers based on warehouse hits and inform key stakeholders;
Configure new codes in the system in line with the use of code creation tools;
Monitor supplier discounts and make purchase recommendations to the procurement team to maximize goal achievement;
Collaborate with IT to implement management dashboards through D365 tools, such as PowerBI;
Participate in the creation of policies, procedures, and regulations;
Perform all other related tasks.

Qualifications
University degree in Business Administration or Operations Management;
3-5 years of relevant experience in inventory analysis;
Good knowledge of supply chain best practices;
Advanced proficiency in Excel;
Experience in the distribution and construction industries (an asset).
