We're seeking a Category Analyst for a 6-month contract at our leading consumer goods firm, with flexibility for 1-2 remote workdays. This role presents an opportunity for career growth and collaboration within our dynamic team. Responsibilities include analyzing store performance, providing insights for the impulse category, and preparing reports to support our sales team. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of experience in CPG/retail, proficiency in Excel, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Nielsen/IRI databases. A case study presentation will be required during the interview process.

Responsibilities
- Utilize analytical tools such as Neilsen or IRI to extract and analyze store performance data, including sales metrics and SKU profitability.
- Generate actionable insights to optimize performance in the impulse category, focusing on corner stores, gas stations, and similar outlets.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate insights effectively to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies and recommendations based on data-driven insights.
- Complete a case study and present findings to demonstrate analytical and presentation skills during the interview process.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in category analysis, preferably in the consumer goods or retail space.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting. Experience with Power BI and SQL to extract data from Neilsen or similar databases is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey insights and prepare presenters for client meetings.
- Familiarity with Neilsen or IRI databases is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze large datasets accurately.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
