As a Product Manager within the Defence and Security Product Strategy and Management team at CAE, you will be responsible for a portfolio of products to ensure continuous value creation by delivering commercial solutions that meet market needs and business requirements.

This position will cover product strategy and management of the entire product lifecycle as well as the following:

  • Analysis and segmentation of the market and target customers.
  • Capture and prioritization of customer needs.
  • Translation of needs and technological evolutions into product roadmaps.
  • Validation of requirements with clients and the business development team.
  • Data-driven approach to product management, achievement of growth targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Definition of the product strategy and the short- to medium-term vision.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders, including development teams, Sales and Marketing, to ensure that product roadmaps are clear and understood by stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Review of the annual product strategy and R&D investment plan.
  • Marketing plan and support product launches.
  • Elaboration of the investment book (funding requests) supporting the strategy and the product development plan.
  • Definition of the business model, product structure, and related options.
  • Definition of requirements and demands related to the design and development of products.
  • Validation and approval of preliminary and detailed design.
  • Active participation in the monthly product governance process to ensure appropriate consensus and visibility.
  • Support business development and proposal activities.
  • Define and support the implementation of product marketing materials.
  • Support for advocacy and trade shows.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • More than six years of professional experience in product management or related experience.
  • Proven expertise in managing all aspects of a high-performance product throughout its life cycle.
  • Experience related to the defence and security industry a plus.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
  • Experience related to developing product strategies and effectively communicating recommendations to the executive team.
  • Business acumen, with a good understanding of financial principles and business cases.
  • Experience in managing a cost centre, budget, or profit and loss.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent complex problem-solving skills.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent degree preferred, but not required.
  • Software development and technical experience.
  • Results-oriented approach, innovative and creative person.
  • Excellent organizational and business skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, advocate for decompartmentalizationand collaborate with organizations globally in order to achieve business objectives.
