Manager - International Tax

The Manager, International Tax reports to the Director, International Tax and is responsible essentially for the financing and cash repatriation transactions as such as tax implications of other CAEâs projects on the international market including the assessment of the foreign country tax issues (inbound and outbound transactions), the recommendation to Management of tax effective structure and the implementation of the approved tax structure. He would also assist the Director, International Tax in special projects such of the incorporation or establishment of businesses or joint ventures abroad and makes recommendations in international tax planning.

Main duties and tasks include:

  • Assess and determine efficient tax strategies, notably in respect of the financing of foreign affiliates and cash repatriation.
  • Responsible of the calculation and assessment of tax attributes such as adjusted cost bases and foreign affiliates surplus accounts and supervise the Analyst â International Tax in the preparation of such relevant calculations.   
  • Communicate tax advice to management, Structured Finance and personnel of operational divisions on foreign country tax considerations and implications affecting the feasibility of international projects.
  • Review contracts and other documents related to financing, cash repatriation, international operations, sales and transactions and recommend changes to wording to ensure that the tax considerations are properly covered.
  • Assist the Director, International tax in special projects such as of the incorporation or establishment of businesses or joint ventures abroad or divestiture of such businesses.
  • Analyze international tax structure and make recommendations for international tax planning including corporate reorganization, financing and cash repatriation from foreign affiliates.
  • Supervise the Analyst â International tax, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Monitor international tax changes, advise management of their impact on CAEâs operations and recommend required actions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Law, Accounting or any other relevant diploma.
  • Master in Taxation or CICA In-Depth Tax Course.
  • 5 to 10 yearsâ experience in tax with relevant experience in cross border tax issues, tax compliance and tax accounting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Dynamic team player.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
