This position will help develop validation test plans for electric motors and controllers. You will perform electrical and dynamometers, battery banks and other test equipment as required to push our motors and controllers to the limit. You will develop test automation routines in Python to standardize and speed up our test procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform design verification and product validation tests, producing clear reports.
  • Provide failure analysis reports to Engineering.
  • Continuously improve test procedures and documentation.
  • Develop test scripts in Python.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dyno/testing software.
  • Conduct validation tests on Products/firmware to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Identify and address any firmware-related issues in collaboration with the Software team.
  • Run and maintain long-term testing procedures to assess product reliability and performance over extended durations.
  • Execute design verification and product validation tests.
  • Generate clear and concise reports summarizing test results and findings.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts in Python.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the management team.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience working with electric motors and drives
  • Engineering Degree: Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or Systems Design required
  • Proficient in PID controls and tuning procedures
  • Interest in developing, documenting and automating test procedures
  • Able to read and write basic Python code
  • Knowledge of power electronics and MOSFET-based motor drives
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Electric vehicle knowledge: batteries, BLDC motors, control circuitry, sensors.
  • Experience using power analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment
  • Proficient using Excel & Word to produce test reports with clearly graphed results
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal, both written & verbal in English, communication skills with ability to troubleshoot and offer solutions in a professional, positive manner
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
