Job Title: Equipment Operator (Excavator and Skid Steer)

Location: Kenora, Ontario

Salary: $23 - $35 per hour (up to $30+ with language skills) + Housing

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator for our operations in Kenora, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in operating excavators and skid steers, as well as a strong commitment to maintaining and caring for machinery. This position includes housing as part of the compensation package.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and graders to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, and other materials during construction and related activities.
  • Clear brush and stumps using bulldozers or other heavy equipment prior to logging activities and build roads at logging and surface mining sites.
  • Use heavy equipment with pile driver head to drive piling into the earth for support of buildings, bridges, or other structures.
  • Operate dredging equipment to deepen waterways or reclaim earth fill.
  • Utilize heavy paving and surfacing equipment to lay, spread, or compact concrete, asphalt, and other surface materials during highway and road construction.
  • Operate power shovels to excavate rock, ore, or other materials from open-pit mines, strip mines, quarries, or construction pits.
  • Move, load, and unload cargo using heavy equipment.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill machinery as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in operating excavators and skid steers.
  • Ability to clean and maintain machinery effectively.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Strong commitment to safety and operational procedures.
  • Knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
