We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Engineering Branch

We are filling a key position - Regional Program Manager, Vegetation Control Program. This position is responsible for the planning, management, design, procurement and construction of the vegetation control program and related projects carried out by the Transportation Engineering Branch. This position also manages the Rural Road Upgrading Program (RRUP), Resource Roads Access Program (RRAP) and Construction Manager Standing Offer Agreement (SOA).

About us…

The Transportation Engineering Branch is responsible for the planning, asset management, design, rehabilitation and construction of different highways, bridges, aviation and transportation infrastructure throughout Yukon. We are a diverse group of people who truly enjoy working together. The work is fast-paced, varied and there is not a lot of downtime - even in the winter, as our planning and the majority of the design work is completed by our employees.

Essential Qualifications (what we're looking for in your resume):

  • Procurement experience;
  • Experience managing large programs overseeing multiple contracts at a time;
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders;
  • Experience in project management including planning, managing several contracts at a time, budgets and supervising technical, professional staff and consultants;
  • University degree in Engineering with a focus on civil/structural or related discipline would be considered an asset.

Candidates who have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate projects;
  • Ability to establish strong and effective working relationships with senior management, and other stakeholders;
  • Ability to work under pressure on tight deadlines;
  • Ability to plan, organize and lead the design and construction of territory wide vegetation control projects;
  • Ability to plan, organize and lead medium to long term capital development plans.

Conditions of Employment:

Valid Yukon Class 5 Driver's License.

Job Requirements:

Travel through the Yukon depending upon where projects are located.
