Material Planner

Summary

The Material Planner is responsible for all aspects of components required for production and service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing new delivery strategies.
• Coordinate and implement mulk runs, consignment materials and leading-edge inventory practices.
• Develop logistics agreements: pack size, order quantity, ship frequencies, routings, etc.
• Oversee and coordinate all inbound shipments as well as returns to vendors.
• Develop the supply chain with vendors.
• Monitor and maintain supplier performance and delivery rating (Vendors and thrid party logistics providers).
• Responsbile for all aspects of components required for prodcution (availability, inventories, supplier issues, etc.)
• Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and using new inventory strategies to ensure accurate inventory and control.
• Coordinate and implement FIFO, cycle counting procedures.
• Oversee and coordinate all cycle counting activities.
• Track and report inventory issues and coordinate any resolution.
• Cycle counting as required by your supervisor.
• Reconciliation of inventory transfer points.
• All duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years experience in material flow.  Automotive industry experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive experience working with MRP systems (ERP systems).
• SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable in your duties and responsibilities in accordance with Health and Safety legislation in Ontario.
• Knowledgeable in the company's duties and responsibilities in accordance with Environmental legislation in Ontario and Canada.
• Working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO45001
