The Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s (PCSP) Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit business organization formed in 2017 and we are preparing for significant regional expansion including the re-launch of the Killick Coast Food Hub. Thanks to the Canadian Agriculture Human Resources Council, we are able to provide meaningful work for a post-secondary student passionate about learning how to help local businesses succeed, healthy living and improved food sustainability/agriculture development. You’d be part of a diverse and creative group that is dedicated to furthering economic development and positive social impact in our region and the successful candidate requires no experience aside from having basic computer and administration skills, an outgoing personality and interest in learning various aspects of the agriculture sector.

Job Details

A hybrid position of working remotely as well as on-site at the food hub in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, the days and hours worked are somewhat flexible in order to accommodate the ideal candidates needs as much as possible. Working closely with the Executive Director, other staff and volunteers, key responsibilities include:

June: Activities required to open the hub in July such as helping onboard vendors, facility set-up, learning the online ordering system and overall customer preparation.

July-December: Activities ensuring both vendors (producers), customers and sponsors have a positive food hub experience such as greeting them at the hub, aiding our delivery team, assisting with online communications, helping prepare orders, supporting the operation of our food hub hotline and more that contributes to our ability to expand in 2025, potentially making this a longer-term position.
