About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for providing technical support to senior project staff (Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and conducting required Quality inspections in accordance with the required codes of construction. The Quality Inspector is familiar with the core elements of a construction project, and demonstrates technical proficiency with quality management systems, processes, and tools. The Quality Inspector 2 is also familiar with the majority of the inspection techniques, types of nondestructive examination, and the application of both, and ensures the requirements of Graham Registered Quality Control Manual(s) (QCMs) are implemented, as applicable. This will be a DAY Shift temporary fly in, fly out opportunity supporting our 2024 Turnaround Season, on a 6 days on, 1 day off schedule based out of IOL KEARL site near Fort McKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided by the company from Calgary or Edmonton.

As a Quality Inspector at Graham, you will:

• Ensure trades are certified to perform the scope of work assigned.

• Conduct pre-install meeting with subcontractors and suppliers prior to the start of a new item of work.

• Ensure implementation of the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) on project site by all project stakeholders.

• Ensure the implementation and the regular updating of the Inspection and Test Plan(s) (ITP).

• Conduct site inspections as detailed in the ITP(s).

• Review Quality related documents submitted by subcontractors.

• Request testing by independent testing agencies.

• Manage and track the Deficiency Management Process.

• Issue or review all project Surveillance Reports (FSR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).

• Maintain the QNEX database for statistical reporting and maintenance on quality data.

• Conduct Quality orientation of new certified trades on project site.

• Ensure the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) meets the requirements of the applicable QCM(s).

• Ensure the Inspection and Test Plan(s) (ITP) meets the requirements of the applicable QCM(s).

• Identify quality inspection forms applicable to the project scope of work.

• Assist with development of Field Instruction Work Packages (FIWPs) and Test Packages (TPs).

• Ensure the required permits have been applied for.

• Ensure subcontractors have been prequalified for the scope for work to be completed.

• Review subcontractors' ITP(s) for compliance with the codes of construction.

• Build effective relationships with clients, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with Graham's core values.

• Communicate professionally with clients and their representatives as required, and recognize the importance of building / maintaining effective business relationships.

• Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviours that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Road to Zero.

• Take personal responsibility for own health and safety, and that of other workers, visitors to the site(s), the community and the environment.

• Promote the health, safety, and environmental protection of everyone on the project site.

• Know and comply with project specific HSE requirements.

• Participate in the HSE initiatives and LEI scorecards.

• Know and comply with client requirements, Graham's Quality Management System, and all applicable government laws and regulations.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Post-secondary education, trade certification, or equivalent experience.

• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.

• CWB Level 1 Certificate

• Certification as required by Code of Construction or client specifications.

• Previous construction experience in a quality role.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

• Solid presentation skills and verbal / written communication skills.

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
