As a Supply Chain and Planning Analyst you will be responsible for the development and management of the overall demand plan. Your goal will be to strategically review and plan current and future business needs. In addition, the role will provide analytical supply and market data and reporting for both internal and external parties. An important aspect of this role is to collect analytical data and present to the business with recommendations to ensure we understand and can react to operational and financial risks that have been identified.

Your Responsibilities:

Demand Planning:

  • Develop Demand Plan of aggregate sales supply demands provided by internal and external partners, while ensuring completeness & accuracy.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand customer requirements and how these requirements affect the Demand Plan. Provide education and training to stakeholders on the demand planning and data collection/interpretation process.

  • Evaluate & examine assumptions and previous demand accuracy against historical, seasonal trends and surface issues from a business and financial context.

  • Proactively identify vulnerabilities and opportunities with ownership and follow through.

  • Drive continuous improvement by effectively analyzing data. Perform root cause analysis and take actions to improve demand planning accuracy.

  • Anticipate demand variances and recommend appropriate action plans to minimize the impact of such variances on the supply chain and our customers.

  • Monitor and communicate Demand Plan accuracy results through facilitation of consensus meetings. Provide feedback to stakeholders and establish/implement actions that will be taken to improve the demand plan accuracy in the short and long term.

  • Drive best-in-class supply and customer service levels.

  • Complete detailed analysis of customer lifting trends.

  • Work with supply chain specialists to collaborate with various internal stakeholders including but not limited to Traders, Contract Managers and Sales & Marketing Teams to resolve gaps between Demand Plan and Actual Demand.

  • Collaborate with sales & marketing to resolving gaps between financial forecast and historical demands; impact to working capital targets

  • Analyze, report and measure specific KPI’s

  • May have rotational on call requirements

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Tracking, reporting, and analyzing the performance of terminal supply and market activities, financial forecast vs demand vs actuals, ad-hoc analytic requests, and development/automation of regular reports in CA and the US.

  • Utilize various petroleum price markets to analyze revenue adders, COGS (Cost of goods sold) and third party expense for internal / external supply analysis and provide recommendations based on findings.

  • Prepare pricing / market analysis in key markets and terminals as required to optimize the supply chain. Identify opportunities and provide information/ data analysis components of projects and plans.

  • Research, review industry trends, external market studies, and internal market plans and present data collected to internal stakeholders (Managers and Senior Managers in Terminal Supply, Cargo Value Center, and Sales) to help identify operational and financial risks and provide solutions on how to manage against such risks.

  • Develop financial models and complete scenario based analysis as required to evaluate business opportunities and maximize revenue.

Your Experience:

  • Post-secondary education required, BBA and/or Accounting an asset

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration an asset

  • 5+ years energy business experience preferred

  • General knowledge of oil and gas industry preferred

  • Experience with contracts / products pricing an asset

  • Experience in database management an asset

  • Experience in supply chain operations is an asset
