Mechanical Designer

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement the design concept through the preparation of mechanical (HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing and Drainage Systems) detailed design, production drawings and schematics for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Conduct heating and cooling load calculations.
- Work with the project team and Project Manager to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
- Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Perform calculations, create specification, and equipment selection.
- Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
- Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/formatting.
- Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, quantity take-offs and measurement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years' work experience in Mechanical Design (HVAC & Plumbing emphasis).
- Demonstrated experience working on various commercial, industrial, and/or institutional buildings.
- The ability to read piping sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
