Senior Mineral Resource Modelling and Estimation

Position Description:

As a member of the Mineral Resource Management team, the successful candidate will report to the Mineral Resource Manager. This role will require an individual who is safety driven and safety conscious, and capable of working with a diverse team of Mine and Exploration geologists, technical services staff, geological technicians, and diamond drillers (supervisors, helpers, and drillers) and mine operations personnel. The selected applicant will be an integral member of the Mineral Resource Modelling and Estimation supporting Growth section, tasked with expanding the current resources and reserves and the discovery of new and economically viable ore zones that will have a significant impact on the mine's earnings and growth. Knowledge of the geology of Archean greenstone belt deposits and hydrothermal alteration patterns will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities:
Proven commitment to workplace safety Management of Mineral Resource Modelling and Estimation with support for Growth programs, including: Developing and presenting program proposals Liaising with mining and planning staff to ensure drill programs align with short and long-term mining plans. Design high-quality diamond drill hole plans running through best practices standards. Oversee logging core and reporting on program results, including quantifying program success. Submitting budget requests and reporting on program costs. Generation of new targets for additions to support the mineral resource modelling and growth. Updating geological interpretations with new drilling and mapping information Carrying out surface and underground geological mapping as required Exposure to a wide variety of exploration, geology, data analysis, and geological modeling and estimation scenarios with opportunities for increased responsibilities and career growth Attending regular annual calendar of geological modeling and estimation Other geological duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geological Engineering Registered, or eligible to register as a Professional Geoscientist with the PGO Minimum of 7 years' experience in mineral resource modeling and estimation emphasis in Mine Geology and/or near-mine mineral exploration with gold experience highly regarded. Solid knowledge of orogenic gold deposit models. Experience developing geological models at both the deposit- and greenstone-belt scales. Understanding of geological settings, deposit models, and ore-forming processes as it pertains to the latest concepts of gold deposit environments. Experience with modern implicit modeling tools will be important. Extensive (3-5 years) practical experience in mineral resource estimation (Geostatistical methods such as Ordinary kriging, simulation, etc) Lead quality audits of all geological aspects for advanced modeling or estimating (drilling, sampling, analysis, QA/QC, and estimation of mineral resources). Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent to satisfy requirements for National Instrument 43-101. Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) Proficient in using 3D modeling software, geological database software, mapping software, and planning software. Experience with Leapfrog, Vulcan, AcQuire, ArcGIS, and Deswik is highly regarded. Demonstrate safety and environmental track record. The ability and willingness to develop and implement new processes. Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary project teams. Ability to walk significant grades and lift 50lbs Valid driver's license Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team environment and engineering and production personnel Excellent written and verbal communication skills Organized, motivated self-starter with high standards expected of themselves and others. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
