The Corporate Communications team leads Intact Financial Corporationâs Internal and External Communications in support of IFCâs business objectives and strategic roadmap. This includes:

  • Supporting and amplifying the common elements that bring us together, define our unique culture and drive outperformance

  • Enhancing employee engagement across IFC â emphasizing what makes us a winning team

  • Protecting and promoting the IFC brand and reputation globally

  • Elevating IFCâs role in helping to build resilient communities where we do business

  • Amplifying IFCâ knowledge, expertise and thought leadership in our key markets
     

Communications Advisor is entry-level role that is responsible for:
1. Supporting the communications team on a wide range of programs and initiatives.

2. Providing back-end support on our key communications channels and platforms, including our intranet and website (IntactFC.com).

3. Distributing and posting communications on our various channels, tracking KPIs and creating reports to help identify. opportunities to strengthen employee communications.

4.Supporting with drafting, editing and proofreading content to support IFCâs reputation, strategic priorities and business initiatives, including: intranet articles,website content, presentations, video, and newsletters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writes, reviews, edits and posts a variety of communications to the corporate communications channels, including intranet and website.

  • Coordinates the distribution of internal and external communications materials

  • Maintains internal and external distribution lists and coordinates internal distribution with other brands, regions and business lines.

  • Works with key internal roles to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the companyâs strategy and in support of various initiatives.

  • Monitors and responds to employee queries to the corporate communications inbox

  • Coordinates translation of content

  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns and producing reports.

  • Conducts research to support team decision-making.

  • Coordinates meetings and supporting materials.

  • Becomes the in-house subject matter expert on various software platforms.

Specific Experience/Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Individual contributor role

  • An undergraduate degree with specialization in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline

  • Entry level to 3 years of communications experience either within a public relations agency or corporate environment

  • Excellent writing and organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail - you can spot a typo a mile away

  • Able to manage tight deadlines

  • Takes initiative, is flexible and adapts easily to change  

  • Committed to delivering high standards of client service

  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills to support the team

  • Highly computer literate with strong command of MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.)

  • Experience providing back-end support to IT platforms and/or basic multimedia production an asset, with a desire to expand skills

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
