Head of Accounting, Tax

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar or equivalent accounting position (Chief Accountant, Assistant Controller)
Proficiency in Excel, SAP is an asset
Bilingualism in French and English
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Activities
Supervise and train the accounts payable staff (1 person).
Ensure the accuracy of monthly financial statements within deadlines.
Perform the closing of periods and the fiscal year.
Prepare and adjust end-of-month accounting entries.
Review accounting books and prepare monthly reports.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and propose solutions to discrepancies.
Record fixed assets and manage depreciation.
Coordinate annual audits and tax verifications.
Monitor internal controls and act as an SAP expert.
Manage treasury and complete bank reconciliations.

As the Chief Accountant, you will report to the Director of Administration and Finance. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing accounting systems and preparing financial information, as well as overseeing accounts payable.
As you master the accounting responsibilities and demonstrate your skills, you will be trained to eventually succeed the Director of Administration and Finance. You will actively contribute to the financial management of the company and the achievement of our strategic objectives. You will work closely with the current Director of Administration and Finance to ensure a smooth transition.
