Our Public Sector Client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage Cloud infrastructure projects including Disaster Recovery initiative with MS Azure within Agile environment - 0084555

1 year contract, possibilities of extensions, Hybrid (1 day/week) - Richmond, BC

Must Have:

  • 10+ years of Project management experience managing multiple large hybrid delivery (agile waterfall) or agile scrum delivery methods that span one or multiple business units, demonstrating mastery of various project management principles, methods and techniques.
  • Direct and recent hands-on experience with creating and monitoring project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources; status reporting; identifying/managing project issues and risks; and change control.
  • Demonstrated excellence in facilitating scope and requirements gathering.
  • An understanding of Disaster Recovery IT systems, costs, approaches and implementation with Cloud based resources, in particular in the context of financial/insurance industry and crown corporations/public agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including extensive experience in preparing status reports and presenting to sponsors, IT and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate technical teams towards achieving robust solutions in a complex environment.
  • Experience in negotiating for and sharing resources with others.
  • SAFe training and certification (e.g., SAFe for Teams or SAFe Scrum Master), or willingness to undertake training and obtain certification within two (2) months from commencement of work.

Responsibilities:

•Managing all aspects of one or multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives across one or multiple lines of business.

•Owning the full project life cycle including implementation from initiation to deployment for one or more major initiatives simultaneously

• Developing and managing all aspects of the project and program including planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, issues, and day-to-day project activities including:

  • Setting and continually managing project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders
  • Preparing estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Procuring adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project teams, sponsors, senior executive management, and key stakeholders
  • Reporting on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Managing ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.
  • Defining the Statement of Work and Specifications for requested goods and services
  • Monitoring, tracking, and controlling outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Defining success criteria and disseminating them to involved parties throughout project and program life cycle.
