Our established client in the Kitchener, Ontario area is growing and looking to hire a Plant Manager for their manufacturing facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all plant supervisors and their responsibilities related to manufacturing using existing systems and processes without any initial major changes.

Support and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives after existing systems and processes have tested for productivity.

-

Promote safety and ensure compliance to all health and safety regulations and company policy related to health and safety.

-

Manage the entire manufacturing processes related to efficiency, quality and schedules.

-

Participate in all aspects of continuous improvement initiatives related to improved efficiencies of staff and equipment

-

Contribute to improving general overall culture on the manufacturing floor.

-

Support initiatives relating to operating inventory improvements.

-

Participate in managing plant budgets, monitor expenses.

-

Maintain open and effective communication with senior management, and plant employees to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.

-

Address any production issues or challenges that arise promptly, using processes and tools to identify root causes, and participate and sometimes lead in implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

-

Monitor production equipment to ensure they are operational and in good working order in coordination with maintenance and engineer departments.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

-

Proficiency in production planning and scheduling, inventory management, quality control methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles.

-

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team of employees.

-

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.

-

Familiarity with health and safety regulations.

-

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and objectives.

-

Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and demands.

-

Proficient with computers including all Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

-

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or a related field is required

-

10+years of experience in manufacturing operations management

-

Experience in production supervision, process improvement, and team leadership.

-

Experience in quality assurance measures

-

Practical experience in production measurement, time studies, process improvement measures.

-

Experience in continuous quality improvement processes and initiatives

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting, standing, and walking

-

Attention to detail and concentration

WORK CONDITIONS

Typical work week consists of five days (Monday to Friday)
